Patient Resources
Everything you need for a smooth visit — what to expect at your first appointment, insurance and payment options, and 24-hour emergency care.
Your first visit
Your initial appointment will consist of a consultation explaining your diagnosis and treatment options. Occasionally, surgery can be performed on the same day as the consultation. However, a complex medical history or treatment plan may require an evaluation and a second appointment to provide treatment on another day.
Please bring with you:
- Your surgical referral slip and any x-rays if applicable
- A list of medications you are presently taking
- Insurance forms if applicable
Please note: all patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. If you will be receiving IV anesthesia, have nothing to eat or drink for eight hours prior to your surgery, and arrange for an adult to drive you home.
Insurance & payment options
We make a conscious effort to keep our fees as low as possible for your benefit. We may accept insurance assignment on procedures such as initial examinations, emergencies, periodontal maintenance, and surgeries.
We have several payment options available to ensure you get the dental care you need. Accepted methods include cash, personal checks, most major credit cards, extended payment plans, and insurance.
Flexible financing options are available through Proceed Finance, Care Credit, and M&T Bank — so you can select monthly payments that fit within your budget.
7-day emergency dental care
Seven days a week, 24-hour emergency care is available to all patients of record. If you are experiencing a dental emergency, contact our office without delay — our periodontists will advise you as to the best course of action. A tooth that has been knocked out of its socket can be re-implanted if handled properly and addressed within the first 30 minutes to an hour after the trauma.
Signs of a dental emergency:
- Severe or constant pain and pressure
- Bleeding or inflammation
- A chipped, fractured, or suddenly missing tooth
- Injury to the mouth or jaw
Most unplanned care can be prevented with proper home care and regularly scheduled periodontal maintenance.
